OVERVIEW

Simon Howes is a Cape Town-based lighting technician with close to a decade of experience across the electrical department, having progressed from Spark through Best Boy Gaffer to Gaffer on set. His feature film credits include Warner Brothers' Deep Blue Sea (2nd Unit) alongside a run of local titles for Gambit Films and Wolflight Productions, and his commercial work spans major national and international brand campaigns for the likes of Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, Sanlam, Castrol and Checkers. Known for his reliability and technical precision on fast-moving commercial sets, Simon has built long-standing working relationships with a number of leading South African cinematographers, most notably a repeated collaboration with DOP Zenn van Zyl across multiple features and campaigns.
