OVERVIEW
Mercedes De Bruyn is a costume designer, wardrobe stylist and art director with over four decades of experience across South African film, television and commercials. She is the founder of Ms-Cedes Studio, her own costume supply and design house, and has been affiliated with Hollywood Costumes' film and TV department as a supervisor. Known for her versatility across genres, from period drama to telenovela, sitcom and feature film, Mercedes spent four consecutive seasons as Costume Designer/HOD on the e.tv telenovela Imbewu: The Seed, and has more recently taken on HOD costume and art department roles on features including Mrs Plum, Manna, The Score and Low Rider. Her work on the drama series Vlug uit Egipte earned her a SAFTA Award for Best Costume Design in 2016, adding to two further SAFTA nominations earned across her career. REQUEST CV
