OVERVIEW

Mafika Masombuka is a Cape Town based (but able to work in JHB) grip department crew member with hands-on experience across South African film, television and commercial production since 2021. Over that time he has worked through every tier of the grip department, from Junior Grip and Assistant Grip through to Rigging Grip, Crane Operator and Best Boy (Grip), building a broad and versatile technical range on set. His credits include the Showmax drama series Reyka and Mabaso, the Netflix feature film Justice Served, and productions such as City of Gold, Jozi Movie and Gold Diggers, alongside commercial work for brands including SAB, Absa, Savanna and Allen Solly. Reliable and adaptable, Mafika is equally comfortable rigging, operating cranes or supporting camera and lighting needs on fast-moving productions.    REQUEST CV
