OVERVIEW

Gideon Eksteen is an Executive Producer with three decades of experience across South African and international television, having begun his career as a runner on Egoli in 1996. In 2020 he founded Wakanda Media, where he executive produces the dating format “Op my Eish” for kykNET — now in its fourth season and the channel’s number one rated and most-watched show. His executive producing credits span reality, documentary and factual formats for broadcasters including the BBC and Sky UK, and audiences in India and Canada, among them “Married at First Sight SA”, “Size Matters” and “Skulls and Roses”. Known for his calm, hands-on leadership of large crews, cast and budgets, Gideon most recently created and executive produced “Pootpraktyk”, his own original format, in 2025.
