OVERVIEW

Maarten De Groot is a Cape Town–based Key Grip and Techno Crane Operator with more than 20 years of experience across feature films, series and commercials. A former Airforce Helicopter Flight Engineer, Maarten entered the film industry in 1994, working his way up from Spark to Best Boy before moving into the Stunts and SFX department and then the Grips department in 2000. He opened his book as a Key Grip in 2005 and has since built an extensive résumé on international features and long-running commercial campaigns. Also a qualified TechnoCrane Grip/Tech and Remote Head Technician, Maarten prides himself on being ‘NOT Just a Grip’ — bringing technical range, dependability and two decades of on-set experience to every production he joins.    REQUEST CV
